One Hour Whitening
One hour whitening is another term used for in-office teeth whitening or professional teeth whitening systems since they usually take less than an hour to give you that perfect dazzling smile. A certified dentist performs these treatments. These whitening systems are a rage with patients and doctors alike.
One of the most well accepted systems is Zoom teeth whitening system. Newly launched Zoom advanced gel is a hydrogen peroxide (25%) based whitening gel used with a whitening lamp. The Zoom advance light activates the gel, which penetrates the inner layers of tooth and bleaches them. It produces astonishing results.
Another well accepted system is Britesmile. It is again a hydrogen peroxide gel having 15% strength. The whitening gel works under a special light which is not laser nor is it Ultra violet. It's a very effective method to whiten your teeth in just an hours' time.
LaserSmile gel from Biolase technology is very effective when used with laser beam of specified wavelength. This treatment is very short and takes only thirty minutes. In this treatment, high concentration of hydrogen peroxide is used (37%).
Rembrandt chairside whitening system contains hydrogen peroxide gel (36%) filled syringes. This paint-on whitener together with the plasma arc light gives amazing end results.
A very strong hydrogen peroxide gel (38%) forms the main component of Opalescence Xtra boost, a product that is administered by syringes. It is easy to apply and does not use any kind of light. The whole procedure takes an hour.
Teeth may be sensitive for about 24 hours after this treatment. But that is only temporary. Depending on the color obtained, the dentist may give a follow up kit to be used at home to get effective results.
These state-of-art, in-office, one hour whitening systems are gaining popularity as they give immediate results as against the conventional methods like strips and trays. As stronger peroxides are used, usually the results are long lasting, sometimes in years. Most of these whitening systems can lighten the teeth color by 8-10 shades; which is remarkable as compared to off-the-shelf products, which can only lighten up to 2 shades. The average cost of these comes to around 500 $ which, as compared to at-home kits available, is rather high.
