Teeth Whitening
Nowadays, teeth whitening has caught the fancy of people, be it men or women. And why not? Shining white teeth increases our confidence level and helps us to face the world with poise.
It has been proven that a person with whiter teeth will do much better in their careers or in their personal lives. But it is quite difficult to maintain very white teeth all the time. There are several factors, which lead to teeth discoloration, the number one being smoking. Even daily brushing will not help those who smoke to keep their teeth white at all times. Other factors are tea, coffee and other food items, which cause discoloration of tooth. Hence teeth whitening is very vital for all of us to have sparkling white teeth.
Teeth whitening is called teeth bleaching as well. This is a type of cosmetic dentistry used to remove stains and colored layers from the teeth. There are several ways with which white teeth can be obtained. Some methods are the use of numerous over the counter whitening systems, laser teeth whitening method, Blue Light Teeth Whitening procedure and many other home based methods. It is always good to consult a dentist before opting for any of these methods.
Prior to going for a teeth whitening process, it is good to know whether bleach based (also known as non-vital whitening) or non-bleach based (also known as vital whitening) technique is appropriate for the teeth. The choice of any of these methods depends upon the kind of teeth one has.
Non-vital whitening technique (called Bleach Based Whitening) is ideal for a person who has had a root canal done to his teeth. This is a better procedure because some teeth may become white only by application of this bleach procedure. In this method, the dentist fills a chemical inside the teeth that will slowly make the teeth white.
Vital Whitening (called Non-Bleach Based Whitening) is the method of teeth whitening, in which one has to wear a mouthpiece filled with certain whitening chemical for a certain fixed duration of time. The duration could be a couple of hours or the whole night. When the mouthpiece is removed, the teeth look shinier.
Thus teeth whitening is not all that difficult. It can be easily done at home whenever required. But to take a dentist's opinion is always good so that the right method is suggested for the teeth.
